Why Do We Need Bedroom Plants?
With all the stresses we face in our daily life, we need bedroom indoor plants to help make our sleeping space as tranquil and serene as possible. Not only do bedroom plants add striking visual interest to your interior, but they also offer many health benefits that can help you get a better night’s rest.
What Are The Benefits Of Having Bedroom Plants?
- Cleaner Air: Studies show that bedroom indoor plants can help to increase oxygen levels, scrub away chemicals and trap dust, helping you to breathe easily while you sleep.
- Humidity: Tropical bedroom plants can help to increase humidity levels, potentially providing relief from respiratory and skin conditions caused by dry air.
- Calmness: Researchers suggest that bedroom plants can help to reduce feelings of stress and make you feel calm and happy. What better room in the house to transform into a stress-free zone than your bedroom?
- Creativity: Studies suggest that indoor plants can make you feel more creative and improve focus. If your bedroom transforms into a home office in the daytime, or you just want to start the day feeling positive, invest in some bedroom plants and watch your creativity and productivity flourish!
Which Plants Are Good For Bedrooms?
The best bedroom plants are the most efficient oxygenators. These plants can help to cleanse the air of toxins and help you breathe more easily. With vivid green leaves and striking decorative foliage, glossy Calatheas and delicate Ferns are some of our favorite bedroom botanical buddies.
Don’t have much natural light in your bedroom? Snake Plants are tolerant of low light conditions, plus they are included on NASA’s list of top air-filtering plants.
FAQ
Which bedroom plants are the easiest to care for?
Our top bedroom plants for beginners are Golden Pothos Plants and Snake Plants. These easy-going indoor plants are very forgiving if you forget to water them, and they’ll help keep the air clean. The Golden Pothos is a great choice for smaller spaces as it can be trained to vine around shelves and curtain rails.
How will I know if I’m giving my bedroom plants enough water?
Bedrooms often receive less natural light than other rooms in the house, so you may find your bedroom plants need less watering than your other indoor plants. For most tropical plants, you should water when the top 2" of the soil feels dry (usually once a week) and for desert plants, you can let all the soil dry out before watering.
If your plant is thirsty, it will usually give you a visual sign. This could be drooping leaves or leaves turning brown and crispy. Check out the individual profile of each particular plant for handy care tips about when to water.
Which bedroom plants are best for large spaces?
Sometimes large spaces can be harder to inhabit than small ones! To get your big bedroom feeling cozy, peaceful, and stylish, choose some big, beautiful bedroom plants to fill the corners. Some of our favorite large bedroom indoor plants are sculptural Swiss Cheese Plants, humidity-boosting Rubber Plants, and show-stopping Calathea Ornatas.
If you have a very bright bedroom, choose an extra-large plant. It will make a gorgeous statement piece, and happily soak up all that sunlight.
