That means they are uniquely suited to steamy kitchen environments. With Ferns, Ficus, and more, we’ve got indoor kitchen plants to suit every interior.

The kitchen is the beating heart of the home, and it deserves some love! We think the best way to bring your kitchen to life is to fill it with some botanical beauty. Indoor kitchen plants will nourish your soul while you create nourishment to feed your household. Symbiosis!

Why Do We Need Kitchen Plants?

With some gorgeous greenery, you can instantly transform your kitchen into not just somewhere you have to be, but somewhere you want to be. Find chopping a chore? Kitchen plants will make baking a breeze, and doing the dishes a delight. Not only do indoor plants add a fresh pop of green to your kitchen interior, but they also offer many health benefits you can take advantage of while making dinner!

What Are The Benefits Of Having Kitchen Plants?

De-Stress: Cooking can be stressful! But it can also be a great meditative way to unwind. Kitchen plants can help create a calming atmosphere in which to gently flex your culinary muscles and relax into the task.

Cleaner Air: Studies show that indoor plants can help to purify the air, increase oxygen levels and remove toxins. Chances are that you spend a lot of time in the kitchen, so why not make it cleaner and greener?!

Get Creative: Research suggests that having plants around can help improve your focus and creativity. As your collection of kitchen plants grows, you may find yourself dusting off those recipe books and getting more creative with cooking.

Which Plants Are Best For The Kitchen?

The best plants for kitchens are vibrant, bold, and can tolerate steamy kitchen conditions. Humidity-loving plants like Boston Ferns, Philodendrons, and Alocasias are perfect kitchen companions.

If your kitchen is on the smaller side, try investing in hanging kitchen plants to take advantage of your vertical space. Easy-care Spider Plants or Monkey Mask Monsteras are great for creating a calming kitchen canopy.

FAQ

My kitchen doesn’t get much natural light. Can I still have kitchen plants?

If your kitchen doesn’t get much sun, choose kitchen plants that are tolerant of low light conditions such as Snake Plants. You could also mount LED grow lights under your cabinets to give your smaller kitchen plants an extra boost.

What is the best way to water kitchen plants?

The great thing about keeping plants in the kitchen is the convenient access to the kitchen sink! You can water your kitchen plants by removing them from their decorative pots and placing them in the (empty) sink. Run each plant under the tap until the water seeps from the bottom of the pot, and then allow it to rest for around 15 minutes until all the water has drained through. This will keep your plants hydrated and help prevent them from getting root rot.
