Native to northern Europe, the English Ivy 'Gold Child' was first introduced in 1971 by Thomas Rochford from the House of Rochford. It received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Merit, where it quickly became popular. This somewhat drought-tolerant ivy grows best in bright light to medium light, cool to moderate room temperatures of 50-70°F.
