In a world where the fast pace of modern life often disconnects us from the natural world, more and more women are turning to eco-wellness trends, if you could call it that. Even though they might be called “trends”, they may have a more lasting impact than one might think. So, forgive us if we call it that for now.
Let’s take a deeper look at how eco-wellness trends are influencing women’s lives, how these practices are not just about their health but also about being stewards of the planet, and how women in nature tie all these elements together.
What is Eco-Wellness?

Let’s start things off with the most crucial of explanations. Eco-wellness is a general concept that includes any wellness practice that seeks to promote health and sustainability in a balanced, ethical, and environmentally friendly manner. Instead of just focusing solely on individual well-being, eco-wellness highlights the importance of the environment, the planet, and even the communities we live in.
What could these practices affect? Well, they can have an impact on various aspects of life, such as food, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and others. Don’t worry about the “others” part. We’ll elaborate on that as we go along.
Now, let's take a closer look at the different categories of eco-wellness trends!
Sustainable Food Choices
The demand for organic, locally sourced, and plant-based foods is on the rise. These foods have a lower environmental footprint, requiring fewer resources and contributing less to greenhouse gas emissions than conventional, animal-based foods. Women are making conscious decisions to eat in a way that supports their health and the health of the planet.
Moms are also more conscious of food choices for the betterment of their children’s health. That’s why it shouldn’t come as a surprise that more brands are trying to make better products.
Health and Mindfulness Practices
Women in nature? When does that happen? Well, it happens more often than you think! When you ask people to give you examples of this, one might feel the need to give out elaborate answers and try to come up with some grand scenario. The truth of the matter is that women find time to be one with nature if they want to by simply doing outdoor yoga, going on hikes, and walking their dog around the park. These might sound simple, but they’re anything but.
That outdoor Zumba sesh might look like a trend to some, but in reality, it is a helpful lifestyle choice that shapes how women look and feel. Don’t downplay them just because it doesn’t feel like an activity you’ll do.
Sustainable Looks
There are two ways you can talk about these looks. One is through the aesthetics of the home. By repurposing, say, glass jars or old fish bowls to create a little herb garden or terrarium, that is already putting eco-wellness into practice.
Another way you could look at it is through sustainable fashion. This includes shopping at thrift stores, upcycling, or just being content with what you have and not participating in mass consumerism.
Green Living

Eco-wellness, as we mentioned before, includes environmentally friendly practices. Women who embrace practices like using eco-friendly household products, reusable shopping bags, or even energy-efficient appliances are already doing their part in eco-wellness.
The simple act of carpooling or walking the kids to school can also be part of green living. Even turning off the lights whenever you leave a room helps! Women and nature work together in harmony - no “small” act is small in the grand scheme of eco-wellness.
A Quick Little Detour: Eco-Feminism
We can’t end our little eco-wellness trend list without talking about eco-feminism. It’s an interesting topic that would be great to talk about this month. Let’s get a little serious for a sec.
What is eco-feminism? At its core, eco-feminism proposes that the fight for women's rights and the fight for environmental justice are intertwined. Again, women in nature. Women, particularly those in marginalized communities, are disproportionately affected by environmental harm such as pollution, resource depletion, and climate change.
Eco-feminists believe that the same social structures that oppress women also exploit the Earth, and by challenging these structures, we can create a more just and sustainable future for both people and the planet.
By integrating eco-feminism into eco-wellness, women can approach wellness in a way that is not only about individual health but also about global change. Through eco-feminist practices, women are empowered to make choices that reflect their values of equity, sustainability, and justice.
